What to look for when choosing your educator.

This is a question that I regularly get as a professional educator. Choosing your educator can be reasonably complicated. There are a lot of educators out there. Some are outstanding at what they do, and some educate solely for revenue. With that, I assure you that this will provide a good and helpful insight into choosing your educator.

Teaching is a privilege, in my option. It is not something I do lightly because it is my passion. My goal is to guarantee that all of my students are taken care of on training and after. When I initially started in this lash business almost five years ago, numerous mistakes were made. I had the worst instructor and taught myself. My experience was the worst and I do not want my students have the same experience. I spent thousands of dollars with useless advertisements and purchased materials I did not need. However, because of my experience, I am above confident in knowing I can help my students deal with any issues and problems.

Here are the answers to some questions I have come across in my years of teaching.

  • It takes a lot of skill and experience to become a lash expert. Be aware of individuals who acquire qualified and will teach immediately after certification, but they have no experience at all. Choose an educator who has been in this industry at least for 2-3 years. If the educator is new to the industry, the educator will not have the ability to provide you with mentorship, assistance, and professional tips. All these should always be included in your training charge.

Take note: These are some questions needed to consider:

❖ How long have the educators been in the industry teaching?

❖ Are they successful in their business?

❖ Are they engaged on social media?

❖ Do they have aa strong social media presence.

  • After the end of your course, you most likely need advice on your future actions. Graduates should always receive continuing assistance and mentorship from their trainers. Ongoing support is crucial, and the student should always feel that they have someone to turn to for help and advice. Speaking from experience, it is the worst feeling knowing your mentor rejected you after attending their course. At Vancity Beauty Lounge, I treat my students with special care and guidance. I will never enable my students to feel alone and confused about anything to avoid conflicts and issues. Vancity Beauty Lounge goes above to guarantee our students have access to the instructor and knowledge in order to continue expanding their education.

  • Each course should always come with a kit. The educator should always provide either a discount to acquire more materials or provide a list of distributors for such items. At Vancity Beauty Lounge, we give large kits featuring everything you need to get started. Our items are of excellent quality. The products and supplies are always of high quality and standards. After certification, our students receive lifetime discounts and quick access to supplies.

  • Choosing an educator who takes the time to react to your communications is vital. If you notice an educator responds days or weeks later, and it is difficult to reach them, it may be a sign of an unresponsible educator. We are all busy, and I cannot answer messages quickly, but I make it my priority to always respond within the same day. I have trained many, and the one thing I keep hearing is how an educator disappears and stops replying, or they will not respond for weeks. Also, always pay close attention to how your educator answers, even with simple queries before and after certification. If you do not feel supported, search for another educator responsible enough to meet your needs. You will thank yourself afterward. I never want my students to feel like they have to seek their solutions on Google or YouTube. What would that say about me as an educator?

  • You always want to get your money's worth, but you never have to feel like you have to give up your life's savings. Shop around, ask questions, compare costs. You want to choose a program with added perks (ongoing support, product discounts, etc.). Remember, you get what you pay for. Cheap tuition is not always the best option.

As a Master Lash Artist and Educator, I will continue to receive education to increase my skills or add a new service to my menu. These are the things I seek as an educator to provide reasonable quality expectations and success in the future. Education is not inexpensive, so choose your educator wisely.
